Andrea R. Hartman is Executive Vice President and General Counsel, NBC Universal Television Entertainment. Previously, Ms. Hartman was Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of NBC Universal since October 2004. Her legal team supports the entertainment division of NBC, NBC Universal’s cable entertainment networks, and the television studios. Her group handles litigation, production and media issues, and contract preparation for the Television Entertainment Group. Ms. Hartman joined NBC in 1994. Before joining NBC, she was a litigation partner with the law firm of Irell & Manella in Los Angeles. She had been at Irell & Manella since 1984. Ms.Hartman received her juris doctor degree cum laude in 1984 from Harvard Law School. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in history with highest honors from the University of California at Berkeley in 1981. She currently serves on the Board of the Riviera Foundation, an organization that provides free tennis programs for underprivileged youth in Los Angeles. She has also served on the Board of the Alliance for Children’s Rights, which provides free legal services and advocacy to protect the rights of impoverished youth in Los Angeles.
